Thomasville
Trapped in a rainswept car, a young man and his ailing father confront the fractured history between them before it's too late, a psychodrama about the weight of Black legacy in Atlanta.
Written and directed by Alex Woodruff. Executive produced by Goodie Mob, in the Atlanta hip-hop group's first film project.
Teaser above. The film has not yet been publicly released and is currently playing the festival circuit.
Story
Set in Atlanta's Thomasville Heights neighborhood, the film follows a son and his ailing father who are forced to sit with each other, and with everything left unsaid, when a drive home turns into a reckoning. It serves as a proof of concept for a feature-length version Woodruff is now developing, and closes on Goodie Mob's “Dirty South.”
Role
I produced, shot, and edited the film through Pineapple Cut Pictures, working alongside director Alex Woodruff across production and post.
